Abstract
This research investigates the influence of language coding, the cognitive processes involved in managing and switching between languages, on English language acquisition among bilingual students in Kazakhstan. Given the multilingual context of Kazakhstan, where Russian and Kazakh are widely spoken alongside other languages, this study explores how the interplay between these languages and English, mediated by language coding strategies, impacts English language learning. It examines the challenges and opportunities presented by this multilingual environment, considering factors such as linguistic distance, proficiency levels, and t he specific coding strategies employed by Kazakhstani bilinguals. The study analyzes existing research and proposes directions for future investigations tailored to the Kazakhstani context, aiming to optimize English language learning outcomes for bilingua l students in this unique linguistic landscape.
