Abstract

Induction generators are widely used in wind power plants with a capacity of up to several MW, diesel power plants [1]. The main disadvantages of generators of this type include the need for a source of reactive capacitive power for excitation. However, in practice, it is difficult to change the capacitive current when changing the load and turbine speed. This leads to a change in the level of the generator output voltage, which reduces the efficiency of the installation.
