Abstract
The purpose of the scientific paper is to explore the potential impact of small modular reactors (SMRs) in limiting negative free market electricity prices, which have become increasingly common in recent years. Due to the increasing share of electricity from photovoltaic (PV) and wind power plants (WPP) in Bulgaria's energy production, negative prices are becoming more frequent, and a strategy is needed to mitigate their occurrence. Using both qualitative and quantitative methods, a comparative analysis will be conducted to assess the extent to which SMRs are a suitable solution for achieving the goals mentioned above. This scientific work aims to provide new insights and/or methodologies within the selected topic.
