Abstract

The paper examines the phenomenon of the digital human as a result of the development of the information society at its later stages. The digital human is considered a postmodern type of Homo sapiens that functions as both an object and a subject of information relations and is capable of processing information and forming new informational structures within the global digital space. The study highlights the role of the virtualization of space and time, cyberspace, as well as the convergence of artificial intelligence, machine learning, and big data in shaping the digital human. The transformations of digital human identity are analyzed, in particular the interaction between ipse and idem identities, along with the growing importance of biometric technologies in processes of identification and control. The impact of digitalization on the cognitive sphere, social ties, communication, and self-presentation of the individual is outlined. Emphasis is placed on the contradictory nature of digital space, which simultaneously expands human adaptive capacities and generates risks of hyperreality, superficial thinking, and the strengthening of control mechanisms.
