Abstract

Artificial Intelligence (AI) is a scientific and engineering discipline focused on designing intelligent systems, particularly computer programs capable of performing tasks that typically require human intelligence. Although AI is closely related to using computational methods to model human cognition, it is not limited to biologically inspired approaches. While there is no universally accepted definition of AI, it is commonly described as the study of computational processes that enable perception, reasoning, and action. In the modern world, the volume of data produced by humans and machines far exceeds the capacity of people to interpret it and make informed, complex decisions. AI serves as the foundation of computer-based learning systems and is becoming essential for advanced decision-making. This paper discusses the fundamental concepts, definitions, history, applications, growth, and major achievements of artificial intelligence.
