Abstract
Neonatal jaundice is one of the most-common conditions encountered in the first days of life. It happens when newborns develop elevated bilirubin levels and present with yellowing of the skin and eyes. While often benign and self-resolving, unrecognised or severe cases can lead to serious neurologic complications. This article explores its physiology, causes, risk factors, diagnosis, management, and long-term implications.
