Breath of beginnings: understanding respiratory diseases in neonates
Main Article Content
Abstract
Respiratory diseases are among the most common and critical conditions affecting newborns, especially those born prematurely. The neonatal period represents a vital stage of lung transition—from fluid-filled fetal lungs to air-breathing life. When this process is disrupted, conditions such as Neonatal Respiratory Distress Syndrome (RDS), Transient Tachypnea of the Newborn (TTN), Meconium Aspiration Syndrome (MAS), and Bronchopulmonary Dysplasia (BPD) can occur. Understanding these diseases is key to improving survival and long-term health. https://my.clevelandclinic.org/health/diseases/rds-neonatal-respiratory-distress-syndrome
