A comparative analysis of the use of coping strategies in schema therapy and in the theory of R. Lazarus

Abstract
The article presents the features of the use of coping strategies in schema therapy and their use in the framework of the theory of stress and coping by R.Lazarus. Using the example of the case, the algorithm of work was presented, the main similarities and differences of both approaches to overcoming emotional and psychological difficulties of a person were revealed. It was found that while scheme therapy mainly focuses on changing dysfunctional patterns formed at an early stage, the Lazarus model highlights the cognitive assessment of stress and the behavioral strategies that a person chooses in relation to it. The results of the article contribute to the formation of integrative approaches in modern psychotherapeutic practice.
