Abstract
Chronic Kidney Disease (CKD) is a very prevalent disease that has emerged as one of the most rising causes of Non-Communicable Deaths around the world. It is expected that this disease will continue affecting ever-increasing proportions of the population with time; hence, its significance will increase further among the different causes of death around the world. Keeping in view this background information, this review focused on searching for the pathological information and epidemiological characteristics of CKD over the past few years. It was observed that the disproportionate proportions of CKD affecting different populations around the world might be attributed to the different demographic, environmental, and medical facility characteristics. The nature & severity caused by CKD should make it imperative to make an effective effort for the development & execution of effective prevention & treatment strategies for limiting the cases & progression of CKD. As CKD imposes a very heavy economic burden, it shall be imperative to make an assessment for the cost-effectiveness of the preventive strategies against the burden of disease caused over the next few years, considering the economic development characteristics.
