Abstract

Sexually Transmitted Infections (STIs) are infections primarily transmitted through sexual contact, including vaginal, anal, and oral intercourse. They are caused by bacteria, viruses, protozoa, and ectoparasites. STIs remain a major public health concern in India due to their high prevalence, asymptomatic nature, social stigma, and long-term complications such as infertility, ectopic pregnancy, cancers, and increased risk of HIV transmission.
