Abstract

The integration of artificial intelligence technologies into higher education has sparked unprecedented debates regarding academic integrity, pedagogical transformation, and ethical governance. This research paper examines the multifaceted ethical dimensions of AI usage in academic settings, analysing how generative AI tools, learning analytics, and automated assessment systems challenge traditional educational paradigms. The research reveals that while AI technologies offer substantial benefits for personalized learning and administrative efficiency, they simultaneously introduce complex ethical dilemmas requiring institutional frameworks that balance innovation with educational values. The paper proposes evidence-based recommendations for developing ethical AI policies in higher education, emphasizing the need for transparent governance, faculty development, student education, and ongoing assessment of AI’s impact on learning outcomes.
