Teacher status and the role of a teacher in education system

Abstract
This article aims to provide more insight into the indicators of “teacher status” and “teacher role” in the current education system. Thus, this article focuses on the determinants of teacher status by investigating the effectiveness of policies targeted at raising teacher quality in the educational institutions. Applying the research approaches, this article presents the findings of document analysis focused on the previous studies on teacher role and status in the modern society. In this paper, there were three different potential determinants consisting of teacher classroom practices, teacher role, and teacher status.
