Abstract

An important part of the sustainable providing of energy services is played by renewable energy, which is an unrenewable and pollution-free energy source. Examining the potential, position, upcoming plans and policies for renewable energy in Azerbaijan is the major goal of this study. Inductive approaches, a systematic approach, and a literature review were all used in this study, which employs qualitative research methodologies. The study looked at Azerbaijan's policy toward renewable energy in light of the country's prospective renewable energy sources, the current setting, and its long-term plans. In terms of producing electricity from renewable energy sources, Azerbaijan lags behind a little. Together with all of this, the most crucial strategic objectives for Azerbaijan's usage of renewable and alternative energy sources have been established. Consequently, the key objective has been set as having 30% of investments in renewable energy in the nation's total energy balance by 2030. According to the report, policies promoting renewable energy will benefit Azerbaijan's economy in the years to come because of its geographical position and infrastructural system, which enable it to provide electricity to impoverished countries. The study looked at and proposed policies for the sustainable growth of renewable energy sources in the light of growth in Azerbaijan, including the margin of renewable energy sources in consumed energy sources, the policies the government uses for energy sustainability, and the inadequacy of the policies.
