The possibilities of multispiral computed tomography in the diagnosis of primary (idiopathic) pulmonary hypertension

Abstract
Pulmonary hypertension (PH) is a condition characterized by increased pressure in the small circle of blood circulation. It can be idiopathic or observed in other conditions. LH is defined as an average pulmonary pressure of 25 mmHg or more at rest. A pressure of 20 mmHg or lower at rest is considered normal, and a pressure of 21-24 mmHg is doubtful, but often requires further study. If LH treatment measures are not carried out in a timely manner, then this condition can lead to an unfavorable prognosis with the progression of right ventricular failure and death. Several noninvasive imaging techniques can be used to evaluate and study LH, such as chest radiography, echocardiography, computed tomography (CT) and magnetic resonance imaging (MR) imaging.
