Abstract
In this work, a study of the problems of the application of the principles of fair trial by national judicial bodies in the light of their interpretation by the European Court of Human Rights is carried out. The duty of Ukrainian courts to issue well-founded and reasoned verdicts is emphasized. Deficiencies in the practice of reviewing final decisions that have entered into legal force are indicated. Undemocratic regulatory and legal constructions regarding appellate and cassation review of individual cases were noted.
