The effectiveness of mobile learning apps in teaching english as a foreign language
Main Article Content
Abstract
This study investigates the effectiveness of mobile applications in facilitating English language learning. With the rapid integration of mobile technology into education, learners are increasingly utilizing mobile-assisted language learning (MALL) tools that offer personalized learning paths, gamification, and real-time feedback. This paper systematically analyzes existing literature to evaluate the benefits and challenges of mobile applications in English language acquisition. The findings suggest that while mobile applications enhance learner engagement, accessibility, and retention, challenges such as digital distractions, the need for structured integration, and potential over-reliance on technology persist. This research proposes a framework for optimizing mobile-assisted language learning by incorporating structured curricula, AI-driven personalization, and balanced gamification strategies. The study concludes with recommendations for educators and policymakers on best practices for integrating mobile learning applications into formal educational settings.
