Application of petroleum chemistry in the production of value-added products
Main Article Content
Abstract
Petroleum chemistry plays a vital role in the transformation of crude oil into valuable chemical products. This paper discusses the fundamental chemical processes involved in the refining and conversion of hydrocarbons, including cracking, reforming, and polymerization. Emphasis is placed on the synthesis of petrochemicals such as ethylene, propylene, and aromatics, and their role as precursors for plastics, solvents, and synthetic fibers. The paper also explores innovations in catalytic systems and green technologies to improve efficiency and reduce environmental impact.
