Abstract

This article analyzes the state of gender equality and the changing position of women in the digital economy in the context of the impact of digitalization on the labor market. The study shows that while digital technologies create new professional opportunities for women, they also raise a number of challenges related to equal access to this field, the acquisition of necessary skills, and the representation of women in technological fields. Increasing digital skills, especially in areas such as ICT, artificial intelligence, and data analytics, can strengthen both women's economic independence and their position in the labor market. The article identifies gender stereotypes, inequalities in access to technical fields, and the existing segregation in the division of labor as structural barriers. In addition, public policies, innovations in education, and private sector initiatives are important in terms of women’s remote work and digital entrepreneurship. The results of the study show that inclusive education, mentoring, legal regulations, and awareness-raising measures are necessary for the digital transformation to have a positive impact on gender equality. Increasing women’s economic activity through flexible work arrangements and e-commerce is presented as a leading trend in the digital economy. The article concludes that success in this area is possible only with the coordination of social and institutional supports, along with technological inclusion.
