Analysis of the environmental impact of economic development in the Baku region

Abstract
This article statistically analyzes the impact of rapid economic development on environmental indicators in the Baku region. The main objective is to investigate the dynamics of factors such as air pollution, increased waste generation, and changes in land use in the context of industrial, transport, and energy sector growth. For the analysis, multivariate regression models and cointegration tests were applied using official statistical indicators and environmental monitoring data covering the period from 2005 to 2024. Short- and long-term effect relationships were evaluated through EViews and Excel software. The findings indicate that while economic growth has a significant impact on the environment, effective environmental policy tools are essential to manage these effects.
