Experimental determination of sliding planes in multilayer foundation under surface load
Main Article Content
Abstract
The paper presents the results of an experimental study aimed at identifying the configuration of sliding planes in multilayer soil foundations under surface strip loading. The experiments confirmed the presence of a single sliding plane through all layers, regardless of their properties and sequence. Surface loading significantly affects the inclination of these planes compared to classical Coulomb theory.
