Abstract

This study aims to investigate the effect of microalloying with Sc+Zr and Sc+Zr+Mn+Cr complexes, as well as different HT methods, on the mechanical and corrosion properties of high-strength Al-Zn-Mg-Cu aluminum alloys. It has been shown that in alloys doped with (Sc+Zr) and (Sc+Zr+Mn+Cr) complexes, the most optimal heat treatment both before and after corrosion is the simpler T6 treatment. Unlike multistage aging, T6 promotes the formation of a finer grain structure with a uniform distribution of strengthening particles in the alloy.
