Abstract

Learning a foreign language is one of the ways for students to develop their moral values through exposure to a large variety of cultural, ethical, and social situations. This article reveals the combination of specific traits in foreign-language classrooms that contribute to moral growth along with linguistic proficiency. Teachers can help their students to the multicultural resources, raise ethical dilemmas, and use practical learning methods, in the process they establish an environment based on empathy, critical thinking, and ethical awareness. This research has put a spotlight on the enormous influence that foreign-language education can have on the growth of ethical and globally responsible citizens with students receiving practical suggestions for the adequate inclusion of moral development into the teaching of their methods.
