Abstract

The article is devoted to the integration of artificial intelligence (AI) into the process of teaching foreign languages in higher educational institutions. The possibilities of using technologies such as chatbots and platforms to improve teaching are being considered. The role of AI in personalizing learning, automating routine tasks of a teacher, creating didactic materials and optimizing time is highlighted. Special attention is paid to the potential of ChatGPT, including its advantages and limitations in teaching foreign languages. Examples of applications that can automatically evaluate work immediately after they are submitted are analyzed, while noting errors and suggesting ways to avoid them when performing subsequent tasks. The importance of using personalized materials and programs was noted. The authors emphasize the importance of developing teachers' information competencies and propose strategies for introducing AI into the educational process.
