Productive ways for developing students' cultural awareness in EFL classroom
Main Article Content
Abstract
The study is carried out within the project Teacher Training for Multilingual Communication in an Intercultural Context and examines some effective ways for developing students' cultural awareness in EFL settings, with an emphasis on teaching techniques, learning activities, and resources. Integrating cultural content into language classrooms is one of the most valuable methods for exposing students to a range of cultural viewpoints via real-world examples, media, and authentic texts. Role-playing, debates, and research projects that emphasize cultural differences are examples of culturally relevant activities that teachers might urge their students to participate in. Additionally, using multimedia materials like songs, movies, and online interactions helps teachers create a welcoming and safe space where learners can freely express their cultural perspectives. In the end, raising students' cultural understanding in EFL classes encourages them to become global citizens by promoting empathy and respect for people from different backgrounds.
