Continuous Professional Development of Teaching Staff Within the Educational Policies of the Republic of Moldova
Main Article Content
Abstract
Today, increasingly higher demands are placed on teaching staff, as the quality of education depends primarily on their pedagogical competence. The introduction of professional standards into educational practice, standards that define the range of functions of a teaching professional, has essentially generated the need for continuous professional development and for enhancing teachers’ professional competence in designing and implementing educational programs. The new social order in the field of education is reflected in the requirements regarding teachers’ qualifications, as formulated in the State Educational Standards, which specify that one of the conditions for the implementation of educational programs is the continuous professional self-development of teaching staff within the educational institution where they carry out their educational activity.
