Theoretical aspects regarding educational games in the formation of intellectual abilities of preschool children
Main Article Content
Abstract
Play has been attributed the role of a “school of life” because it holds particular importance in the developmental process of children and is not merely a means of creating good mood. It contributes to the formation, development, and restructuring of the entire psychic life of children. Through games, children develop psychological processes such as perception, mental representations, and creativity; their memory capacity increases, they develop volitional traits, and moral qualities such as self-control, respect for others, patience, honesty, perseverance, courage, and responsibility. Why do we consider play a type of school? Because it possesses content as rich as the events encountered in daily life. Through play, we contribute to the preparation and anticipation of the preschool child’s integration into adult life, which the future reserves for them.
