The image of women in Kazakh history: representation of gender roles in Kazakh literature

Abstract

This article examines the representation of women in Kazakh history through the perspective of gender roles in literary works. The study analyzes the social status of women in Kazakh society and their roles within family, culture, and public life as reflected in literature. Particular attention is paid to the evolution of female images in Kazakh literary tradition and their connection with national cultural values. The research demonstrates that women in Kazakh literature are portrayed not only as guardians of family and tradition but also as active participants in social and cultural transformation. By applying gender analysis, the study highlights the symbolic and social significance of female characters in different historical periods of Kazakh literature.
