Scientific-methodological framework for selecting an onboard equipment variant to solve the problem of aircraft modernization

Abstract

The article analyzes scientific and methodological approaches to justifying the composition of onboard equipment for aircraft during their modernization. It is determined that onboard aircraft equipment is a complex technical system. It has been established that the use of a methodological framework for selecting an onboard equipment variant within traditional approaches is not expedient due to the fundamental limitations of single-criterion approaches and the limited functionality of applied practically oriented methods. This leads to the conclusion that there is a mismatch between the practical need for substantiation in decision-making when selecting the composition of onboard equipment during modernization (or creation) of aircraft and the limited capabilities of existing methods. It is shown that to effectively solve the problem of selecting the composition of onboard equipment during aircraft modernization, it is advisable to combine the methodology of multi-criteria optimization with the advantages of a systems approach. Therefore, the authors believe that the selection of onboard equipment composition for aircraft should be carried out by combining the advantages of both an unstructured approach and a formal structured approach.
