Abstract

Creative combination of mastered lexical units and correct use of free word combinations in the process of written and oral speech in order to implement the communicative goal of teaching foreign languages in higher specialized schools are among the complex problems existing in the field of foreign language teaching methodology. The problem of instilling in students the norms of word combinations in a foreign language and the laws existing in this field is a rather urgent problem, since it has not yet been fully resolved in the methodology of teaching foreign languages, including English. In this regard, it is absolutely clear that it is impossible to acquire adequate speaking skills in a foreign language without acquiring the ability to freely and creatively combine words in the speech process. Teaching the vocabulary of the English language is a complex and important issue, being one of the problems of particular importance. It can be said that the effectiveness of the language teaching process directly depends on the solution of the problem in question. The vast majority of difficulties encountered by students when teaching the lexical aspect of oral speech in a foreign language are related to the differences between the systems of the foreign language being taught and the students' native language. For this reason, special attention should be paid to the differences in the lexical systems of the two languages in the process of teaching a foreign language.
