Abstract
This article examines the theoretical and legal aspects of the concept of discrimination as a socio-legal phenomenon. It analyzes the main approaches to defining discrimination in legal science, as well as its classification based on various criteria. Particular attention is given to the study of the normative legal foundations for combating discrimination. The author emphasizes the need to clarify legal criteria for identifying discriminatory practices and proposes directions for improving legal regulation in this area.
